Foodstall (audio video)

2006

Inspired by a selection of writing (poems by Hong Kong-based writer Leung Ping-kwan and various recipes from my family) related to food culture in Hong Kong, and recorded in China, France and Canada, this audio video work depicts a cross-cultural landscape. The six short vignettes set up a dialogue between sound, image and text. The DVD project emerged from the larger multi-disciplinary installation Hong Kong Foodscape, created in collaboration with Leung Ping-kwan and Lee Ka-sing, which was exhibited at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Shatin, Hong Kong, 2004.
